Client: Mr & Mrs. Youssufi
The project is a total refurbishment and extension addition to a residential house in north London to include an open plan attic space. The design responses to the green and soft context by providing panoramic and framed views of the side and the rear. It also responds to Persian culture of the clients by providing maximum lighting for the internal space with a strong relationship between the garden and the kitchen where they spend most of their time. The corner facing the garden has a glass planter box which provides extra lighting with direct connection with the outside, in addition to providing acoustics insulation to the external street. The main facade has an external and internal built in benches with a canopy surrounding the space and framing the main openings.
